Tutoring

Aloha,

My name is Jennie Humburg, and I will be starting an after-school tutoring program in cooperation with Ewa Plains Enrichment Programs.  This program will assist keiki more heavily in reading and writing, but there will be assistance in math if needed.

I graduated from Marrymount College in Tarrytown, NY in 1990.  I began teaching in NYC public schools immediately after graduation from college, and while I was teaching in NYC, I completed my first Master's Degree, which was in Reading.  I moved to the state of North Carolina and began teaching Title 1 Literacy there.  While in NC, I earned my second Master's Degree, this one being in English as a Second Language.  Since I have been in Hawaii, I have taught Title 1 Literacy to high school students, I have taught summer school and worked as an educational surrogate for foster students.  I have lived in the Ewa Beach community since December 2005.  I am committed to making education more fun for our children by showing them that they can be successful.  This success results in more excitement in learning, which leads to even greater success in school as well as life.

I look forward to being of service to you and your child, and I hope to see you soon.

Mahalo,

Jeannie Humburg
